How selling your junk car works
Selling a junk car to Cash for Junk Cars NWI takes four stops: you send the car details, we call with an offer, a truck collects the car for free, and you're paid at pickup. Here is each one, with what to have ready.
How does selling a junk car work in NWI?
You fill in a two-step form with the car's year, make, model and title status, then your name, phone and pickup address. Cash for Junk Cars NWI calls back with an offer. If you accept, we book a pickup in north Lake County; the tow is free, same-day is often possible, and you're paid at pickup.

Paid
Title signed over, you're paid at pickup.
1. Send the car details
The form asks for the year, make and model, and whether you have the title. Then your name, phone number and where the car is. That's it: no photos, no VIN, no account. If you're not sure of the year, it's on the title and the registration.
2. Take the call and hear the offer
We call you back to ask about the car's condition and the paperwork, and then we make an offer. You can take it, think about it or turn it down. Nothing is owed for asking.
What moves an offer is the car itself: its year, make and model, what shape it's in, and whether there's a title. We don't publish a price list, because two cars of the same model are rarely in the same shape.
3. Get ready for the truck
- The title. Every owner named on it signs. No title? Indiana then needs a duplicate title or a BMV certificate of authority; tell us what papers you have. Our guide to signing over an Indiana title goes line by line.
- The plate. Take it off. Indiana's BMV says the seller removes it at the sale and doesn't need it back. More in your plate after the car is sold.
- Your things. Glovebox, trunk, under the seats, toll pass, garage opener.
- Access. If the car is in a garage, behind a gate or in a lot, tell us how to reach it.
4. The pickup, and getting paid
The truck comes to the car: a driveway, a street, a parking lot or a repair shop, anywhere in North, Calumet, Ross or Hobart township. Same-day pickup is often possible. The tow is free. You sign the title over, hand it to the driver, and you're paid at pickup.
After that, the buyer takes care of titling the car in their name. Your only follow-up is optional: Indiana lets a seller send the registration and proof of the sale to the BMV within 30 days so its records show the transfer.

Questions for pickup day
- Do I have to be there when the car is picked up?
- Tell us on the call. Someone has to hand over the signed title and the car, so we'll plan the pickup around whoever that will be.
- What if the car doesn't run?
- That's normal for a junk car. Tell us on the call if it won't roll or steer, or if it's somewhere awkward, so the right truck comes.
- Is there any charge for the tow?
- No. Towing is free.
